who?
Mecal is an organization committed to innovation in the audiovisual field, dedicated to promoting and exploring the frontiers of cinema and technology. One of our main projects is the organization of Mecal Pro, the Barcelona Short Film and Animation Festival that already has 29 editions.
Mecal 360º is an extension of the 360 VR Fest, a festival that we have been organizing for seven editions, focused on immersive experiences and virtual reality cinema.
why?
Our purpose with Mecal 360º is to show that cinema and new technologies can not only coexistir, but complement and enrich each other. We strongly believe that artificial intelligence, along with other emerging technologies, are revolutionizing every aspect of filmmaking, from scripts to the way of shooting, post-production and the final viewer experience.
Through this festival, we want to be a bridge between traditional cinema and the infinite possibilities offered by new technologies.
We are committed to creating a space where filmmakers, technologists and audiences can discover and experience how these innovations are transforming cinematographic language and ways of storytelling.
